September Walli Exercise

Joe Sydney has put together the brief for the September Walli Exercise, see below and attached. Please contact Joe directly if you are interested and his contact details are on the PDF attachment.

The NSW Cave Rescue Squad will hold a cave rescue training weekend at Walli caves on 19, 20 & 21 September 2008. The day will cover the introduction of basic theory and practical aspects of cave rescue engineering/microshaving, and, plug and feather techniques.

All attending must be onsite to commence the training at 9am – SHARP! If you do not attend the 9am safety brief your role will be limited!!

‘How to get there’ details will be provided to those indicating their attendance.

BYO EVERYTHING for an isolated weekend camp.

Personal equipment required: CRS\VRA overalls and/or overalls, helmet and personal equipment for rescue.

All cave engineering and cave hardware will be provided.

PPE: All participants MUST wear PPE during the training. If you have PPE please bring it otherwise CRS will provide in limited quantities. For example:

• Ear protection\muffs
• Eye protection: medium or high impact goggles
• Gloves and boots.
