CRS Assists Police in Land Search for Missing Sydney Boy

The Squad was please to be able to assist the NSW Police Rescue Squad and SES volunteers in the recent search for a missing boy in Sydney's north west. Unfortunately, the outcome of this search was not positive.

A boy has drowned in a dam on his neighbour's property in Sydney's north-west overnight.

The six-year-old was reported missing about 5pm (AEST) yesterday after he wandered from his family's property at Wilberforce.

Hawkesbury police started a search involving a helicopter, the dog squad and 16 State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers.

David Webber from the SES says they spent five hours carrying out a land search of the area.

The boy's body was found at about 12:30am (AEDT).

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
